All Gen Gamers had a total of six hosts during its run.1 It began with the three original hosts: HappyConsoleGamer, PeteDorr, and Gamester812. They were soon joined by Jason Heine, and after Johnny left, both MetalJesusRocks and (much later) Sexy Ben “browland1” joined the crew.
Interesting fact of the day: outside of Pete and Gamester—the only two permanent hosts of the show—all the other hosts also came on as featured guests at one point or another! Let’s take a quick look at these host-turned-guest episodes.
Jason Heine’s guest appearances

It’s easy to forget that Jason wasn’t on the podcast from Day 1! His first episodes were as a “guest” as the new audio guy and editor for the podcast. But of course, he ends up staying on for good after his first two appearances.
Ben’s guest appearances

Ben was a prominent moderator on the (also-now-defunct) Pete’s Game Room Forum3. His episodes are some of my favorites to listen to, but I forgot he was on so many times after Episode 100 before he became a host.
- Episode 24: Power to the players
- Episode 48: The Calm Before the Storm…
- Episode 99: Goodbye Double Digits
- Episode 168: Cranky Ape
- Episode 180: Super Friends
- Episode 182: Top 5 Games So Far this Year
Johnny’s guest appearances

I was super bummed out when Johnny announced he was leaving the podcast! I really loved the fun energy he brought to the show. He still came back for some significant events: the 100th episode of AGG, his movie release, and the infamous Xbox One announcement.4
- Episode 100: Show of the Millenium
- Episode 114: No Gamester’s Were Harmed In The Making Of This Episode
- Episode 144: HappyConsoleGamer & Xbox One Impressions
Jason “MetalJesusRocks” guest appearances

Jason’s first and only appearance as a guest, where he also introduces us to the book “Ready Player One”. Only a few episodes later, he joins the show to replace Johnny and stays with us all the way till Episode 194! Sometimes I forget how much longer he served as a host than Johnny did.
Bonus: RobMan’s guest appearances

While he wasn’t an official host of All Gen Gamers, Rob filled in for Johnny as a guest host a few times and was the most frequent guest—even if you don’t count those aforementioned episodes. Rob would have been a great full-time host if he had the time and desire. RobMan’s episodes on AGG (as well as his episodes on HappyConsoleGamer) are some of my favorites to go back to, especially the Christmas episode!
- Episode 11: NES 25th Anniversarry
- Episode 21: Christmas 2010 Special
- Episode 42: Pre-E3 2011 Talk
- Episode 47: 2 for 1 Special
- Episode 50: The Longest One Yet!
- Episode 57: PAX 11 Special
- Episode 66: Any Dragon Can Be A Skyrim Dragon
- Episode 67: A Battlefield of Dirty Dongles
- Episode 68: Skyrim is here!
- Episode 85: Ready Player One Special
- Episode 100: Show of the Millenium
Well, that’s a wrap on this blog post! It’s actually quite convenient to have all of these episodes in one spot. One day, I would like to add a fancy search list where you can find episodes according to guests (or other fun filters)5, but this will have to do for now.
- You can actually learn some neat tidbits on each host at the “Hosts” page of the All Gen Gamers site (who would have thought): http://www.allgengamers.com/hosts/ ↩︎
- I listened back to parts of Episode 1 recently (see: the previous blog post), and at times it almost sounded like Jimmy “lotsofgames” was a host? Maybe it was like a pilot episode situation in TV where they change up the actors afterward. Or maybe not. Anyway, if we did consider Jimmy as a host, then he too came back on the show for Episode 52: 1 Year Anniversary. ↩︎
- I was also upset when this forum went down. Public forums that anyone can view on the web will always be superior to inferior replacements like Discord that are closed down and place content behind registration walls (or worse). Long live public websites! ↩︎
- This episode introduced me to one of my favorite YouTube videos of all time, “Xbox One Reveal 2013 Highlights”: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KbWgUO-Rqcw ↩︎
- Example: show me all the episodes that had a “Love Talk” segment! Or sort episodes by their length! One day… ↩︎
